SET IN THE MODERN ICONIC corner building at 2nd and Pacific in downtown Bremerton, this eatery pulses with life, laughter, and the symphony of diners once again, now as Mezcalitos Mexican Restaurant. When you walk in, it becomes evident that this place has their act together. Immediate attention from staff. Seated in seconds. The upbeat musical atmosphere accented by metal agave decorations enveloped me like this building never has before. While the smokey serenade of the new restaurant’s namesake spirit didn’t totally harmonize with my taste buds, my wife reveled in its unique flavors. Each meal is a presentation worthy of consideration for dinner at the next First Friday Art Walk. The flavors make me question what alchemy transpires in the kitchen? It’s truly a sensory fiesta! I skipped the full parking lot, opting for a nearby garage, but if driving isn’t your thing, this location is right next to the Bremerton Transportation Center. And bicycles get the best parking, at the front door. Be sure to leave extra time after the meal to walk to the nearby Harborside Fountain Park. Food digests better with a stroll. // RUSTY RIDER
