Forget the Palooza’s here comes Punkapaloo-BLAH!
Today (Jan. 2) marks Bremerton’s second annual, shag-red-carpet-worthy, dirty punk rock fest which brings together a monstrous evening full of the loud, fast, fun stuff on Callow Avenue @ the Charleston Music Venue.
Btown punx YIA headline a dirty Puget punk mix of bands from Kitsap, Seattle, Tacoma and beyond. It all starts around 5 p.m., all ages, bar w/ ID, $8 cover, 333 Callow Ave. in Bremerton. Proceeds benefit the Artists for Freedom and Unity.
In the meantime, here’s a few hundred words on the 12 bands slated for the fest:

Y.I.A. — Drink beer. Fuck You. Hell Yes!
Bastard Child — This dark and heavy Tacoma band has been described as: “a different kind of uncomfortable” … “kinda like a jazzed up version of The Mentors” … and … “scum fucks.”
Red, White & Die — Tacoma street punks with plenty of sing-alongs. Listen to ‘Bremerton Belongs to Me Cocksparrer!’ @ myspace.com/redwhiteanddie.
The F’n A’s — An upbeat, face-raping, beer-loving band, something like a Port Orchardized hybrid of the Vandals, Screeching Weasel and Swingin’ Utters.
GadZooks — A new Seattle band w/ Kimi Cutthroat of Shit Gets Smashed!
Cuntry Cuntroll — A Callow-roasted blend of punk rock, reggae, ska and hip-hop… with a nice touch of mariachi.
Atracity — A new Bremerton punk band playing their third show @ Punkapalooblah. The band is a mix of crust ska and punk with short fast songs. Come see them and support new bands.
Generation Decline — Another new Bremerton band with a crusty sound, amazing dual guitar licks, punk ethic and an awesome, audacious female lead vocalist.
The Whorewoods — The Whorewoods want you to know that they don’t give a fuck. The brazen, abrasive band hails from Seattle.
McMonster the Devastator — Cynical non-denominational minimalistic brutally honest socio-political dry-humored bluecollar distorted solo acoustic sarcastic thrash punk rock . . . From your friendly neighborhood songwriter — the one-man, Tacoman wreckin’ machine, McMonster the Devastator.
Autonomadic — Watch the Seattle band’s handmade harsh interrogation music video for ‘Brave New World’ @ myspace.com/autonomadic… it’s in between the pictures of ‘Auto-girls.’
Papercut — A distinctly old-school-sounding, up-and-coming high school band from Gig Harbor.
